We want privacy. How close are the other cottages?
Our property is 8.5 acres on a rectangular block with our home at the street end. Federation house is about 40m to the north of our home with screening lattice and trees between. Gardenia Green and Lavender Blue cottages are 220m to the east and cannot be seen from the Federation and our house. Gardenia and Lavender are 60m apart and are orientated to ensure your privacy which is enhanced by the placement of gardens. Our valued guests regularly comment about the high degree of privacy when compared to other places they've stayed.
Do we have to pay for pantry items?
Yes, but they are not excessively priced
Can we bring our own food and wine?
Yes, all cottages are equipped for those wishing to self cater?
Do we need to bring linen?
No, superior quality bed linen and manchester is supplied including bath sheets, face washers. Bath robes and slippers are provided with our All Inclusive Luxury Bed and Breakfast option.
Does my cottage have a spa?
Yes, all cottages have premium quality imported therapeutic spa pools / Jacuzzis which are constantly heated, always ready for use
Do you have a swimming pool as well?
Yes, the outdoor, 12m free form pool is available for guest use during the swimming season October to April. The temperature is maintained during that time by a heat pump. The pool is auto chemical dosed for your convenience throughout the day.
Is breakfast included?
Daily breakfast provisions are included with our All Inclusive Luxury Bed and Breakfast option tariffs.
What's provided for breakfast?
The breakfast included with our All Inclusive Luxury Bed and Breakfast options includes fruit juice, choice of cereals, our fresh farm eggs, bacon, homemade jams, butter, honey, Milo chocolate drink, Twining specialty teas, herbal and leaf tea blends and instant - decaf and plunger coffees, your choice of milk and hot homemade bread delivered to your door. The Self Contained Self Catering option includes Milo chocolate drink, Twining specialty teas, herbal and leaf tea blends and instant - decaf and plunger coffees

How far off the Pacific Highway are you?
We're 4 minutes off the highway on a sealed country road
How long does it take to drive from Sydney?
It's a 4hr drive direct from the start of the freeway north of Sydney to our door
How far is the beach?
Port Macquarie has numerous beaches, some patrolled - 20-25 minutes. We can also send you to some other beautiful beaches north of us.
Can we park our boat on the property?
Yes, each cottage has undercover car parking with ample additional space for a boat.
Are there extra charges for extra people?
Yes, the Federation House tariff includes 4 people staying, whilst Gardenia Green and Lavender Blue cottages tariff is for 2 people staying. Additional people are charged $40 per night for adults and $20 per night for children under 16yrs.
Can we bushwalk on your property?
Telegraph Retreat is an 8.5 acre (3.3ha) property which you are free to walk about. Telegraph Retreat is bounded by other rural residential properties of a similar size also with Federation themed homes
 What is your environmental impact policy?
Green STAR Accreditation endorses tourism businesses which are responsible and committed to reducing the environmental impacts of their business operation in the areas of waste minimisation, water management and energy efficiency. In an endeavour to minimise our impact on our environment Telegraph Retreat have consistently applied initiatives to reduce our footprint on the natural environment. Telegraph Retreat is an accredited Green Star tourism operator.
I have chemical allergies what chemicals do you use during cleaning?
 Every aspect of Telegraph Retreat is cleaned by the use of Enjo products. Enjo fibre products are fabulous as they clean with only the use of water. We use natural citrus air fresheners and disinfectant only. Our recent STAR rating assessment by AAA Tourism rated our housekeeping as Outstanding. Be assured of our commitment to live within our environment and provide our guests immaculate accommodation by the use of Enjo products.
Do you provide meals?
Two course dinners can be delivered to your cottage on Fri, Sat
or Sun nights. This option does not have a menu attached - we ask
for any dietary requirements and a suitable meal is planned and
prepared to fit your requests. BBQ and Picnic Banquets are also
available - all by prior arrangement.
Do you cater for weddings?
Yes, Telegraph Retreat is the perfect venue for a small intimate bush wedding or for those wishing to elope in a peaceful country NSW setting.
Do you have in house movies?
We have around 100 movies available free of charge
Do I need to bring a hair dryer?
No, each cottage has a hair dryer
Do you have Austar or paid TV?
No
Are there laundry facilities?
Yes there is a dedicated guest laundry with front loader washing machine, electric drier, tub, washing powder, clothes line with pegs. Each cottage also has a clothes airer.
 Can we have massages?
Yes, aromatherapy and remedial massages can be pre-booked for you requiring at least one day's notice.
Do we have to clean the cottage before we leave?
As with all self contained accommodation, our cottages should be left in a clean and reasonable state. Quite often new guests will be arriving within 3 hours of your departure. The cost of reasonable housekeeping is incorporated into the tariffs however, where excessive cleaning is required the cost of additional staff wages and any damage will be charged to your account.
